The Salon and Spa on Railroad in Eagle River is no stranger to makeovers for its clients, but in the fall of 2023, owner Jacki Greene decided it was time to refresh the salon itself.
After 21 years, she wanted to make it her own and felt inspired to create a modern, fresher, brighter space.
Greene worked with a friend and area interior designer from Eyes For Your Interior, but most of what you see in the salon today is her brainchild. Details like chic wallpapers, bright backsplashes, and gorgeous light fixtures are a favorite among visitors.
The demo began on Oct. 23, and the salon remained open for business throughout the entire three-and-a-half month-remodel, which was no easy feat.
Although Greene says going through the remodel was “crazy” and very stressful, it was worth it. The new space opened earlier this year on Feb. 5, and clients love it, as does she.
As an entrepreneur and single mom who grew up in the North Woods, Greene is proud to have built the salon into what it is today. She’s even prouder to serve the community, citing how much it’s grown — even just Railroad Street alone — since she began.
New look, new team
The salon doesn’t just have a new look — it has two new stylists (Elise and Brooke), a new nail tech (Cami, who also brings a new service, Gel-X extensions), and a new esthetician (Becca). The team is continually growing, with another new stylist expected to start later this fall.
Greene has always run a collaborative, team-based work environment, and the time she puts into training each new service provider is unparalleled, ensuring that each guest has the best care and experience possible.
